5 MUST DO THINGS WITH 48 HOURS IN VENICE

I recently went on a girl's holiday to Italy which was my first vacation abroad with the girls. The trip was for 5 days in total and we visited 3 cities i.e. Venice, Lake Garda and Bergamo. Italy is a beautiful land of fashion, rich in history and culture plus it is considered as one of the most extended tourist goals in the world. There is so much to do in Italy and for those who love to travel to romantic places, Italy is a must visit. On the other hand if you have interest in meanings behind art, you will find that this location is a fantastic historical and artistic puzzle.

I was in venice for two days, therefore I had to make the most of the time I had there. Here are 5 must do things if you are in Venice for 48 Hours:

GONDOLA RIDE

This was top on my list because as much as I can't swim, I loved the idea of exploring the beautiful streets on a gondola ride. The ride comes at a price of 80 Euros for half an hour, which is more on a pricey side therefore you have to be prepared to spend that much. However, the experience is worthwhile.

VISIT BASILICA SAN MARCO

The Basilica San Marco is probably one of the best tourist attractions in Venice. We had a guided tour which was pretty helpful because I learn't more about the rich history and was able to see the collection of paintings from the 14th to the 18th Century. The beauty inside the Basilica is breathtaking. However, taking pictures is not allowed unfortunately. It opens from 9.45 am to 5pm on weekdays. On Sunday it opens from 2-5pm. One tip I would give you, is to go as early as possible because the lines get super long pretty quick therefore, you don't want to be standing in line for hours on end under the scotching sun. The heat around June is intense. Therefore be smart and get there early. Unless you want to roast like crispy chicken.

CLIMB THE CAMPANILE DI SAN MARCO

The Campanile is the bell tower that dominates the skyline of Venice. Now, when I saw this tower I thought we had to take a flight of stairs to get to the top. Thank goodness that was not the case. The only way to the top is by elevator. It is quite famous so you might stand in line for a bit and the entry fee is 8 Euros. From the top your reward is one of the best views of the city.

VIEW VENICE FROM THE RIALTO BRIDGE

From the top of Rialto bridge, you will be able to enjoy the iconic view of the city. Sunset has got to be my fav time to visit. Simply standing over the bridge and watching the gondolas, water buses and ferries travel up and down the Grand Canal from this spot is mesmerising.

JUMP ONTO THE VAPORETTO

The Vaporetto is the a water bus/taxi that takes passengers from point A to point B. We mainly used the vaporetto as a way to travel between the main sites. Its also a cheap and fantastic way to tour the Grand Canal, past the Rialto Bridge and all the way to the Train Station. One thing I would say, is that it can get pretty packed especially in the late afternoon.

Have you been to Venice? What must have experiences do you think need to be on this list?

5 TIPS FOR STARTING YOUR OWN BLOG IN 2017

Hey everyone! I just realised that its been a year now since the relaunch of my blog and I was just going through my old posts, appreciating the progress I have made.
It has taken me nearly 5 years to really hone in on the aesthetic of my blog, the direction and topics I want to discuss, and most importantly, grow a community. To some, these things might just come naturally, and if you’re one of those people, consider yourself very lucky. In the blogging world there are certain milestones you must reach–stats, followers, quality content, brand collaborations, the list goes on–if you’re trying to grow it as a business that actually makes money. That may sound bold, but it’s the truth.

SUMMER OUTFIT | HOW TO STYLE A FLORAL MIDI SKIRT

Floral midi skirt

A midi skirt never fails to make me feel ultra feminine. I’ve been eyeing these types of skirts from chicwish for a while and finally got it for summer! This look is perfect for a summer wedding or any other fancy event that requires you to dress elegantly. A little tip on choosing the perfect midi skirt. Full midi skirts are perfect for a slender structure because it gives an illusion of having curves. I went for a floral printed midi skirt mainly because the florals stand out a lot more and is a statement on its own.
